Final Drive Motor for Takeuchi TL130 / TL230 & Gehl CTL60 / CTL70 — Replaces 19031-25300
Complete final drive motor assembly for Takeuchi and Gehl compact track loaders. Italian-engineered planetary gear reduction with integrated high-torque hydraulic motor — the same OEM specification installed at the factory. Replaces Takeuchi 19031-25300 and Gehl 185175. In stock and ready to ship at a fraction of the dealer price.
The Problem
Your track loader is pulling to one side, losing drive power, or leaking hydraulic fluid from a final drive. A failed final drive motor means the machine is dead in the field — you can't track, you can't work, and you can't even drive it onto a trailer without a tow. Dealers quote $4,000–$4,500+ for a replacement final drive, and lead times can stretch to weeks. Meanwhile, your compact track loader — probably the most productive machine on your crew — sits idle. A CTL down costs $500–$1,500+ per day in lost production, rental fees, and crew delays.
The Solution
This is the identical OEM-specification final drive motor used in Takeuchi TL130/TL230 and Gehl CTL60/CTL70 compact track loaders. Complete assembly — integrated planetary gear reduction and hydraulic motor in a single bolt-on unit. Italian-engineered with precision-ground gears and hardened internals. Direct replacement for Takeuchi 19031-25300 and Gehl 185175. We offer it at $2,895 — saving you $1,300+ vs the dealer price.
⚠️ CRITICAL: Install a New Case Drain Filter
When a final drive motor fails, it sheds metal particles into the hydraulic system. These particles travel through the case drain line back to the tank. If you install a new final drive without replacing the case drain filter, contaminated fluid will destroy the new motor — often within 48 hours.
- You MUST replace the inline case drain filter when installing a new final drive
- A clogged case drain filter causes back-pressure that blows the shaft seal ($1,800 repair) or cracks the motor housing (total loss)
- We sell the replacement case drain filter — see our "Frequently Bought Together" recommendation below
- This is not optional. Skip this step and your warranty is void.

- Construction: Italian-engineered, precision-ground planetary gears
- Assembly: Complete — motor + gear reduction + housing (bolt-on unit)
- Mounting: Direct bolt-on to track frame (OEM mounting pattern)
- Output: Drives the track sprocket
- Condition: Brand New
Identification
- Location: One final drive per side — mounted inside the track frame at the rear sprocket

Compatible Equipment
The 19031-25300 / 185175 final drive fits:
Takeuchi Compact Track Loaders
- Takeuchi TL130 (all serial numbers — verify PN)
- Takeuchi TL230 (verify PN by serial number range)
Gehl Compact Track Loaders
- Gehl CTL60 (standard — PN 185175)
- Gehl CTL70 (verify PN by serial number range)
⚠️ NOTE: Very late model machines (High Flow or Series 2) may use part number 188351 instead of 185175. The standard 185175 is the volume mover and fits the vast majority of machines. Contact us with your model and serial number to verify which final drive you need.
Why Buy From Trenchwell?
- Save $1,300+: Dealers charge $4,000–$4,500+ for this final drive. We offer the identical OEM-spec assembly at $2,895 — same Italian engineering, massive savings.
- Complete Assembly: This is NOT a bare motor. This is the complete final drive — planetary gear reduction, hydraulic motor, and housing — in a single bolt-on unit. Remove the old one, bolt on the new one.
- OEM Specification: Same precision-ground planetary gears, same hardened internals, same integrated hydraulic motor. Built by one of the world's leading drive system manufacturers. This is the real thing.
- Don't Forget the Case Drain Filter: We sell the inline case drain filter that MUST be replaced when installing a new final drive. See "Frequently Bought Together" — this is not optional.
- Expert Support: Not sure which final drive fits your machine? Contact us with your make, model, and serial number — we'll confirm before you order.
- Fast Shipping: In stock, ships fast. A CTL down on a job costs $500–$1,500+ per day.
Symptoms of a Failing Final Drive
- Machine pulls to one side during travel
- One track noticeably slower than the other
- Hydraulic fluid leaking from the final drive housing or track area
- Grinding, whining, or knocking noise from the track area
- Track tension keeps changing (oil contamination in the track adjuster)
- Complete loss of drive on one side
- Final drive housing is excessively hot
- Metal shavings visible in the hydraulic fluid or on the magnetic drain plug
- Case drain line is bulging or leaking (back-pressure from clogged case drain filter)
Installation Notes
- Park on level ground, lower all attachments, shut off the engine
- Release all hydraulic pressure — cycle controls with engine off
- Remove the track from the affected side (loosen track tension first)
- Disconnect all hydraulic lines from the final drive — cap immediately
- ⚠️ Replace the inline case drain filter NOW — before connecting the new drive
- Remove the mounting bolts securing the final drive to the track frame
- Support the final drive — these are very heavy (~80–100 lbs). Use a jack or hoist
- Remove the old final drive and clean the mounting surface
- Install the new final drive and hand-start all mounting bolts before torquing
- Torque mounting bolts to spec (check your service manual)
- Connect hydraulic lines — verify correct port assignment
- Install the NEW case drain filter on the case drain (3rd) line
- Fill the planetary gear hub with the correct gear oil (check your service manual for type and quantity)
- Reinstall and tension the track
- Start the machine and run the track at low speed, then gradually increase
- Check for leaks at all connections
- Run both tracks and verify equal speed and power
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same final drive the dealer sells for $4,200?
Yes. This is the identical OEM-specification final drive assembly — same Italian engineering, same planetary gear design, same integrated hydraulic motor. The only difference is our supply chain, which allows us to offer it at $2,895 instead of $4,200+.
Do I REALLY need to replace the case drain filter?
Yes. This is not a suggestion — it is mandatory. When the old motor fails, it sheds metal particles into the hydraulic system. These particles circulate through the case drain line. A new motor without a new case drain filter will be destroyed by contaminated fluid — often within 48 hours. We sell the filter. Buy it. Install it. Your warranty depends on it.
What's the difference between 185175 and 188351?
The 185175 is the standard part number that fits the vast majority of Gehl CTL60/CTL70 machines. The 188351 is used on very late model machines (High Flow or Series 2 configurations). If you're not sure, give us your serial number and we'll confirm which one you need.
Can I rebuild my existing final drive instead?
Possibly, but rebuild kits and specialized shop labor typically cost $2,000–$3,000, and the turnaround is 2–4 weeks including tear-down, inspection, parts ordering, and reassembly. A new complete assembly at $2,895 is often the better economic decision — zero downtime risk, full warranty, and no worn housing or gears to worry about.
How heavy is this unit?
Final drive assemblies typically weigh 80–120 lbs. You will need a floor jack, engine hoist, or a strong helper to remove and install. Do not attempt to muscle it by yourself.
